The Rangers combined singles by Roy Howell, Joe Lahoud and Juan Beniquez and two-run double by Dave Moates to rout Doug Bird. Reliever Mark Littell then walked Gene Clines and yielded a single to Toby Harrah, scoring Moates with the deciding run.
