Led by Dan Ford and Larry Hisle, who drove in nine runs between them, the Twins overwhelmed the Royals, 18-3. Ford, who accounted for five RBIs, hit a sacrifice fly in the third inning, homered with a man on base in the fourth and rapped run-scoring singles in the fifth and sixth.
