The Royals, after winning the previous day's game, 8-6, drubbed the Twins, 16-6, marking the first time that the West Division leaders had posted two victories in succession since August 25-26. The Twins committed six errors. The Royals turned the game into a rout by scoring nine runs after two were out in the sixth inning. Frank White tripled with the bases loaded and Amos Otis and Hal McRae each knocked in two runs with a double. [The Sporting News]
