The Royals, after winning the previous day's game, 8-6, drubbed the Twins, 16-6, marking the first time that the West Division leaders had posted two victories in succession since August 25-26. The Twins committed six errors. The Royals turned the game into a rout by scoring nine runs after two were out in the sixth inning.
