Bobby Murcer smashed a two-run homer in the fifth inning and then hit for the circuit again with a man on base in the ninth to power the Giants to a 7-6 victory over the Padres. The Giants jumped off to a 5-0 lead before the Padres rallied for all their runs in the sixth, sending 11 men to bat against four pitchers. The Giants went to their bullpen twice more with Randy Moffitt finally gaining the victory on the strength of Murcer's second homer. [The Sporting News]
