A homer by Andres Mora enabled Wayne Garland to pitch the Orioles to a 1-0 victory over the Tigers in a game stopped by rain after six innings. Mora's blow in the third inning pinned the defeat on Dave Roberts. Garland allowed only two hits, including a single by Rusty Staub for the 2,000th hit of the outfielder's major league career.
