Jerry Koosman pitched the Mets to a 4-1 victory over the Cardinals and became a 20-game winner for the first time in his major league career. The lefthander, who allowed four hits, struck out 13 for an N. L. high this season. Bruce Boisclair homered for the Mets as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning and, after remaining in the game, drove in another run with a single in the eighth.
