Breaking a close game apart, the Twins scored four runs in the seventh inning and added four more in the ninth to defeat the Angels, 11-2. Larry Hisle homered with a man on base in the second and the Twins added a run in the fourth before the Angels picked up their pair.

The Twins then erupted in the seventh with two runs scoring on a single by Dan Ford and another on a single by Hisle for his third RBI of the game. A double by Steve Braun and single by Roy Smalley each produced two of the Twins' four runs in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
