Turning on his former teammates, Wayne Garrett smashed a grand-slam homer to start the Expos off to a 7-2 victory over the Mets. Garrett blasted his drive off Tom Seaver in the fourth inning. The Expos added a run in the fifth on a single by Pepe Frias, a sacrifice and double by Andre Dawson before Ellis Valentine capped the attack on Seaver by hitting a homer with Del Unser on base in the eighth.
