Winding up his active career, Hank Aaron singled for his 3,771st hit, but the Tigers spoiled the veteran superstar's farewell appearance by defeating the Brewers, 5-2. Aaron's single on a hard shot that Twins' shortstop Jerry Manuel knocked down, drove in a run for the Brewers in the sixth inning. The RBI was his 2,297th. Aaron then was removed for a pinch-runner and received a standing ovation from the crowd of 6,858.
