The Reds were held to only six hits, but Joe Morgan batted in four runs with a homer and sacrifice fly to beat the Padres, 6-3. The Reds loaded the bases on three walks in the first inning and scored twice without benefit of a hit. Morgan smashed his homer with two aboard in the fifth and drove in the Reds' final run with his sacrifice fly in the seventh after a double by Pete Rose and an infield out.
