Gaylord Perry pitched a five-hitter and Juan Beniquez stood out at bat as the Rangers defeated the Orioles, 5-1. Beniquez drove in two runs with a double in the third inning, singled for another RBI when the Rangers added a pair in the fourth and then walked and scored the final marker in the seventh.
