A pass to Jerry Hairston with the bases loaded in the ninth inning handed the White Sox a 3-2 victory over the Blue Jays and extended their winning streak to four games. Steve Stone held the Jays to three hits, but Bob Bailor tied the score with a homer in the eighth.

An error by Pete Vuckovich, pitching in relief for Toronto, enabled Jim Spencer to reach base in the ninth. Oscar Gamble bunted into a forceout, but Eric Soderholm beat out an infield hit. Chet Lemon walked to load the bases and Hairston then drew a pass, forcing in Gamble. [The Sporting News]
