The White Sox fired a barrage of four homers against Vida Blue and defeated the Athletics, 8-2. Richie Zisk hit two homers, as well as a double and single, and drove in four runs. Jim Spencer and Lamar Johnson each connected for the circuit with a man on base. Francisco Barrios, a last-minute starter for the White Sox, hurled the route and allowed only four hits.
