Breaking a tie with a single by Richie Zisk, the White Sox scored three times in the 14th inning to defeat the Tigers, 10-7. Zisk homered in the second and doubled a run home in the eighth when the White Sox rallied to tie the score at 6-6.

Eric Soderholm homered to put the White Sox ahead in the 13th, but the Tigers pulled even with an unearned run off winner Lerrin LaGrow in their half. However in the 14th, a double by Ralph Garr, pass to Alan Bannister and Zisk's single snapped the deadlock. A wild pitch by loser Steve Foucault and infield out by Eric Soderholm added a pair of subsequent tallies. [The Sporting News]
