. . . where the 1970s live forever!

After the first five batters had come to the plate, the Orioles had four runs on the scoreboard to start on their way to a 6-2 victory over the Yankees, who were stopped on their six-game winning streak. The Yankees staked Ken Holtzman to a 1-0 lead on a triple by Thurman Munson and grounder by Reggie Jackson, but the Orioles struck back quickly.

Al Bumbry walked and Billy Smith beat out an infield hit. Ken Singleton drove in Bumbry with a single. After a pass to Lee May, Holtzman uncorked a wild pitch, allowing Smith to score. Singleton moved to third and May to second. Doug DeCinces then batted them across the plate with a single. [The Sporting News]
