Vida Blue continued his mastery of the Angels in Anaheim Stadium by pitching the Athletics to a 7-3 victory. The triumph was Blue's 11th straight over the Angels in their home park since a loss in his major league debut July 20, 1969. Blue gave up the Angels' runs in the first inning, two counting on a homer by Bobby Grich. After the A's pecked away to tie the score, Dick Allen hit the 350th homer of his career in the eighth inning to spark a three-run outburst. [The Sporting News]
