With a single by Robin Yount as the key blow, the Brewers broke a tie with two runs in the eighth inning and defeated the Red Sox, 4-2. Sixto Lezcano accounted for the Brewers' initial pair, driving them home with a double in the fourth. The Red Sox had a homer by Carlton Fisk.

In the eighth, Mike Hegan walked and gave way on the paths to Tim Johnson. After a sacrifice by Von Joshua, Yount rapped his single for the tie-breaking tally. Yount moved up an extra base when Dwight Evans bobbled the ball in the outfield and scored an insurance run on a single by Dan Thomas. [The Sporting News]
