Bert Blyleven continued his mastery of the Royals by pitching the Rangers to a 5-0 victory. The shutout was Blyleven's sixth of his career against the Royals and the victory was his fifth straight since 1975 and his 18th against 10 defeats in meetings with the Kaycee crew. The game was memorable for Juan Beniquez, who hit his first homer in a Ranger uniform and drove in three runs. [The Sporting News]
