After tying the game with a homer in the ninth inning, Al Oliver hit a two-out single in the 10th, scoring Omar Moreno, to give the Pirates a 4-3 victory over the Astros. Willie Stargell accounted for the Pirates' first two runs with a pair of homers.

After Oliver knotted the count with his circuit clout, Moreno singled with one out in the 10th and stole second. Ed Ott popped up. The Astros then elected to pass Dave Parker in a move that failed when Oliver rapped his winning single. [The Sporting News]
