Carlton Fisk hit two homers and drove in five runs to lead the Red Sox to a 6-4 victory over the Athletics. Fisk's first homer with a man on base tied the score at 2-2 in the fourth inning. The A's took advantage of three errors, including one by Fisk, to score twice in the seventh.

However, the Red Sox loaded the bases in the eighth on a double by Rick Burleson, single by Steve Dillard and pass to George Scott. After Carl Yastrzemski batted in one run with a sacrifice fly, Fisk came up and smashed his second homer of the game. [The Sporting News]
