Jim Rice hit a triple and homer and Carl Yastrzemski drove in two runs, one with a safe bunt, to lead the Red Sox to a 5-2 victory over the Mariners. Denny Doyle doubled in the first inning and, after advancing to third on an infield out, scored the first run for the Red Sox on Yaz' bunt. Rice tripled and counted on a single by Yastrzemski in the third before hitting his homer in the seventh. [The Sporting News]
