George Brett cracked two doubles off his pitching brother, Ken Brett, to help the Royals defeat the White Sox, 6-5. Amos Otis and Al Cowens had homers for the Royals. After his first double in the fifth inning, Brett stole third and scored on a single by Hal McRae. With the game tied, 4-4, in the sixth, Joe Zdeb singled, Fred Patek was safe on an error and Buck Martinez singled to drive in Zdeb. Brett's second double then scored Patek with what proved to be the winning run. [The Sporting News]
