Don Sutton racked up his fifth straight victory with the Dodgers, beating the Expos, 8-2. Davey Lopes and Reggie Smith hit homers in the first inning to open the Dodgers' attack. Sutton clinched his own decision with a two-run double in the third. After yielding only four hits in the first eight innings, Sutton tired in the ninth and surrendered a double by Chris Speier and singles by Ellis Valentine, Mike Jorgensen and Gary Carter for the Expos' runs.
