Alan Bannister drove in two runs and scored one to lead the White Sox to a 5-3 victory over the Indians. The White Sox counted three times in the fifth inning on consecutive singles by Eric Soderholm, Jim Essian, Ralph Garr and Bannister, with Bannister's hit being good for two RBIs. Other runs followed in the seventh on a single by Bannister, triple by Richie Zisk and single by Jim Spencer. Jim Norris batted in a pair for the Indians. [The Sporting News]
