A three-run homer by Ken Reitz in the ninth inning carried the Cardinals to a 3-0 victory over the Braves. Don Collins, who took the mound in relief of Jamie Easterly, walked Hector Cruz. Lou Brock ran for Cruz and stole second. After another pass to Ted Simmons and forceout by Keith Hernandez, Reitz hit his homer. Al Hrabosky batted for Bob Forsch before the inning ended and then set down the Braves in their half of the ninth to finish Forsch's sixth victory. [The Sporting News]
