Jerry Morales drove in the Cubs' first two runs in each game of a doubleheader to mark 4-3 and 4-2 victories over the Expos. In the opener, a pass to Greg Gross, single by Bobby Murcer and double by Morales produced a pair in the first inning. The Cubs loaded the bases in the fifth and added their other runs on a sacrifice fly by Gross and single by Larry Biittner. Barry Foote drove in the Expos' runs with a double and homer.

In the nightcap, the Cubs decided the outcome with three runs in the third inning. Ivan DeJesus and Biittner singled and Murcer walked, setting the stage for a two-run single by Morales. Steve Ontiveros followed with a single for the third run. [The Sporting News]
