Joe Rudi, who has proved to be Frank Tanana's best friend on the field, drove in two runs with a triple and single to help the Angels' lefthander defeat the Yankees, 8-2. With Tanana on the mound, Rudi has collected 15 hits in 36 at bats and has driven in 19 runs. The Angels whacked Mike Torrez for four runs in the first inning.
