Pinch-hitting with two out in the ninth inning, Biff Pocoroba came through with a grand slam to lift the Braves to a 9-6 victory over the Expos. A three-run homer by Jeff Burroughs in the third and solo swat by Gary Matthews in the sixth staked the Braves to a 4-1 lead, but the Expos came back to grab a 6-5 lead in the top half of the ninth.

With two away in the Braves' half, Junior Moore singled off Joe Kerrigan. Bill Atkinson relieved. Burroughs walked and Matthews singled to load the bases before Pocoroba batted for Vic Correll and hit his grand slam. [The Sporting News]
