A homer by Oscar Gamble with two men on base helped the White Sox score five runs in the second inning to account for a 7-4 victory over the Royals. Gamble's homer followed singles by Richie Zisk and Jim Spencer. Chet Lemon kept the inning going with a single, stole second and scored on a single by Eric Soderholm, who had four hits in the game. After taking third on a single by Jim Essian, Soderholm scored when Ralph Garr forced Essian. [The Sporting News]
