Making his first major league start, Jackson Todd emerged with credit for the victory when the Mets defeated the Giants, 4-3. John Milner and Lenny Randle hit homers for the Mets' first two runs. Ron Hodges drove in the third run with a single in the sixth inning, but the deciding run in the seventh was unearned on a wild throw by Marc Hill.
