Frank Tanana became the first seven-game winner in the major leagues this season when the Angels' southpaw shut out the Twins, 3-0. Tanana scattered eight hits in going the route for the seventh time. The shutout was his third. Bobby Bonds staked Tanana to a lead with a two-run double in the first inning. The other run counted in the fourth on singles by Tony Solaita and Dave Chalk around a wild pitch. [The Sporting News]
