A pinch-homer by Craig Kusick with two men on base climaxed a five-run rally in the sixth inning and brought the Twins an 8-5 victory over the Angels. Trailing, 4-1, the Twins had Butch Wynegar on first with two out before Larry Hisle singled and Glenn Adams doubled to drive in two runs and chase Angels' starter Wayne Simpson. Mickey Scott relieved and passed Dan Ford. Don Kirkwood then took the mound for the Angels and on his first pitch Kusick hit his deciding homer.
