Working out of a bases-loaded jam in the ninth inning, Jim Palmer pitched the Orioles to a 2-1 victory over the Brewers. Palmer ended the game by making Charlie Moore his 12th strikeout victim. The Orioles scored a run in the third inning on a sacrifice fly by Lee May after singles by Rick Dempsey and Al Bumbry and a pass to Ken Singleton filled the bases. Don Money tied the score with a homer in the eighth, but Singleton came back with a circuit clout off Jerry Augustine in the Orioles' half for the winning run. [The Sporting News]
