Jose Cruz rapped four hits, driving in two runs and scoring one, to lead the Astros to a 4-3 victory over the Padres. Bob Watson homered for the Astros in the second inning. After the Padres took a 3-1 lead, Cruz tied the score with a two-run single in the fifth. Then in the seventh, Cruz doubled and counted the winning run on a double by Joe Ferguson.
