A sacrifice fly by pinch-hitter Steve Brye in the ninth inning scored Sal Bando and enabled the Brewers to defeat the Rangers, 6-5. The Rangers had a chance to break the game wide open when they loaded the bases with none out in the top half of the ninth but settled for only one run on a sacrifice fly by Jim Fregosi, tying the score at 5-5. In the Brewers' half, Bando singled, took third on a single by Cecil Cooper and sped home after Brye hit a long fly batting for Von Joshua. [The Sporting News]
