With two out in the 10th inning, Jerry Remy singled for his fifth hit of the game and drove in the run that gave the Angels a 7-6 victory over the Indians. Rico Carty hit a two-run homer for the Indians in the fourth.

The Angels kayoed Wayne Garland in the fifth while taking a 5-3 lead, but the Indians went ahead again before Bobby Bonds smacked a homer in the seventh to tie the score at 6-6. In the 10th, Willie Aikens doubled and yielded the paths to Gil Flores, who crossed the plate on Remy's single to enable Dave LaRoche in relief to gain his first victory in an Angels' uniform.
