Mark Fidrych went down to his second straight loss since coming back from knee surgery when the Indians rapped last season's A. L. Rookie Pitcher of Year for 10 hits and five runs in six innings to defeat the Tigers, 6-4. Duane Kuiper tagged Fidrych for a pair of singles, knocking in three of the Indians' first four runs. Ray Fosse singled another run home in the sixth and, after Fidrych's departure, accounted for the Indians' last tally with a squeeze sacrifice bunt in the ninth. [The Sporting News]
