The Dodgers snapped out of their four-game losing streak with a 6-2 victory over the Astros. Charlie Hough, in relief of winner Tommy John, pitched three shutout innings and picked up his 14th save of the season.

The Dodgers took the lead with two runs in the third inning. After singles by Davey Lopes and Ted Martinez around a passed ball produced the first tally, Martinez stole second and scored on a single by Steve Garvey. Ron Cey accounted for a run with a double in the fifth and added two more with a single in the ninth before scoring himself on a single by John Hale. [The Sporting News]
