Ed Halicki traveled the distance for the first time in 11 starts this season and pitched the Giants to a 2-0 victory over the Padres. The Giants broke up Halicki's duel with Bob Shirley by scoring a run in the sixth inning on singles by Rob Andrews, Derrel Thomas and Jack Clark.
