Mike Norris made his first start since being recalled from San Jose (Pacific Coast) and pitched the Athletics to a 1-0 victory over the Mariners. Norris allowed only four hits and won a duel with Dick Pole, who gave up five hits, when Tony Armas singled in the fourth inning, advanced on an infield out by Marty Perez and scored on a double by Jim Tyrone.
