A two-run homer by Mike Schmidt in the first inning and three-run drive by Greg Luzinski in the sixth helped the Phillies outslug the Astros, 9-8. The Astros had a solo swat by Cesar Cedeno in the first, a two-run blow by Art Howe in the second and another two-run smash by Julio Gonzalez in the fourth while taking a 7-4 lead.
