Bill Madlock and Darrell Evans drove in three runs apiece to lead the Giants' attack in a 7-6 victory over the Pirates. Madlock accounted for his RBIs with two of his three singles, while Evans hit a sacrifice fly, double and single. Gary Thomasson batted in the Giants' other run with a double. Willie Stargell homered for the Pirates to ignite a five-run rally in the seventh. Three doubles and a triple by Phil Garner figured in the outburst before Randy Moffitt saved the game.
