In the second inning, after the Blue Jays scored once when Alan Ashby was safe on an error, Doug Ault doubled and Dave McKay grounded out, John Scott hit a homer to make it 3-0.

The Angels came back to tie the score, but Ron Fairly put the Blue Jays ahead to stay with a circuit clout in the eighth. McKay hit another homer off reliever Dave LaRoche in the ninth when the Blue Jays insured their victory with the final two runs. [The Sporting News]
