After hitting a double and scoring in the fourth inning, Leroy Stanton smashed a homer in the eighth to carry the Mariners to a 2-1 victory over the Tigers. An error by Larry Milbourne accounted for the Tigers' tally in the second. Stanton's two-bagger in the fourth led to the tying run on a single by Bill Stein and infield out by Bob Stinson.
