Roy Howell singled in the ninth inning for his fourth hit of the game and scored Steve Bowling to give the Blue Jays a 5-4 victory over the Mariners. Bowling walked and advanced to third on a single by Bob Bailor before Howell's hit decided the outcome. Bailor had three hits, including a homer. Bill Stein and Leroy Stanton homered for the Mariners, who lost for the fourth straight time in meetings of the A. L.'s expansion clubs. [The Sporting News]
