Mike Marshall, who pitched seven innings before tiring, gained his first A. L. victory since 1969 when the Rangers defeated the Indians, 6-0. Relievers Adrian Devine and Darold Knowles completed the shutout. Marshall won three games and lost 10 with the former Seattle Pilots before pitching in the N. L. from 1970 through '76. Dave May hit a double and single to account for two of the Rangers' runs and Jim Sundberg added a pair with a triple. [The Sporting News]
