Stealing home for the first time in his major league career, Fred Patek scored the Royals' winning run in a 2-1 victory over the Twins. In the second inning, John Wathan and Patek singled and Frank White walked to load the bases. The Twins missed an attempted forceout at second on a grounder by Joe Zdeb as Wathan scored.
