Jerry Morales hit a single, double and triple, driving in two runs and scoring two, to lead the Cubs' attack in a 5-0 victory over the Mets. Rick Reuschel won his 10th game with the aid of a perfect relief performance by Willie Hernandez, who came in with two men on base and two out in the sixth inning and retired the last 10 batters. The fate of Jerry Koosman, who started for the Mets, was decided in the first inning when Bill Buckner doubled, Bobby Murcer walked and Morales tripled. [The Sporting News]
