Glenn Adams batted in eight runs and set a Twins' club record in a 19-12 victory over the White Sox. Rod Carew joined in the slugfest with a double, two singles and homer for six RBIs and raised his batting average to .403 to the delight of the crowd of 46,963, the largest turnout for a regular-season game in Twins' history.

Adams hit a two-run double in the first inning, rapped a grand slam in the second and drove in his other runs with a single and sacrifice fly, in addition to having another single for his fourth hit of the game.
