A triple by Cecil Cooper in the fourth inning and sacrifice fly by Sal Bando enabled the Brewers to defeat the Twins, 1-0. Lary Sorensen and two relievers, Bob McClure and Bill Castro, combined to post the shutout. Sorensen was lifted with a man on base in the ninth. McClure retired one batter before yielding to Castro, who recorded the last two outs. Rod Carew had a single, double and two walks in four trips for the Twins and raised his batting average to .411.
